Newt Gingrich is in.

After flirting for years with running for president, the former speaker of the House officially declared on Wednesday that he is a candidate for the Republican nomination, claiming the mantle of Ronald Reagan and urging Americans to “talk together, work together and find solutions together.”

In a video posted on the Internet, Mr. Gingrich promoted his tenure as leader of the House and said: “We’ve done it before. We can do it again.”

“Let’s get together, look reality in the face, tell the truth, make the tough choices, get the job done.”
