April 14th Historic Day

April 14th is historic at least for two memorable tragedies. First, on the night of the 14th while basking in the glow of victory over the conclusion of the American Civil War, President Abraham Lincoln is shot by an assassin while watching “Our American Cousins” at Ford’s Theatre with his wife Mary and Major Rathbone and his lady friend.

Second, at almost the same hour some 47 years later in 1912, the RMS Titanic strikes an iceberg as she make her maiden voyage to America.
